CLIENTS IN CANADA
While an undergraduate at Dartmouth College, I developed an interest in Canadian political and cultural affairs. This interest arose from both my enthusiasm for hockey and the proximity to Dartmouth of major Canadian cities. As a student I visited Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City and Toronto on a frequent basis. I have since traveled throughout Canada, from British Columbia to Nova Scotia.
I have developed an appreciation and interest in Canada's multi-cultural society, its evolution into nationhood and its parliamentary system of government. As a Dartmouth senior I wrote a government honors thesis on the role of French Canada in Canadian confederation.
These interests have continued in a legal context. At present, I have professional relationships with law firms in Toronto, Montreal and Halifax. I am also listed in the Canadian edition of Martindale Hubbell. I read various Canadian publications on a regular basis, including Maclean's, The Globe and Mail and The Montreal Gazette.
I am able to obtain positive results for Canadian clients seeking to transact business or collect money in the United States. Potential Canadian clients and their lawyers may call upon me with the certainty that I will understand their special needs and function as a portal to the United States.
Since the advent of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), business across the 49th parallel has expanded dramatically. Just as business has expanded in this environment, so has litigation and debt collection. I am anxious to assist Canadian lawyers and their clients within the U.S. legal system.
